Use this form to have our office begin the process of a Notice of Furnishing (NoF). The Notice of Furnishing is sent from a supplier or subcontractor to the general contractor and homeowner that they are providing materials and or labor to their job site. This is the first required document to file in order to file a lien. After you submit your project information sheet to our office, we will prepare a title search on the requested project and begin preparing the Notice of Furnishing. The Notice of Furnishing is required to be sent by Certified Return Receipt through the USPS (Don’t worry we take care of this for you).
Use this form to have our office file a Claim of Lien for your project. Provide us with the first and last dates on the job. Provide the total contract amount, minus any payments, to equal the dollar amount of your request lien. The lien is then filed at the Register of Deeds Office in the county in which the property is located. Our liens are hand-delivered or electronically submitted to the County Clerk's Office to ensure that the lien is filed timely. Remember: A lien must be filed within 90 days of the last date of labor/material.
Request for Discharge of Lien
Use this form to have our office file a Discharge of Lien for your project. Please make sure you have been paid in FULL prior to ordering the discharge of lien, as you can't "re-lien" the job once the discharge has been filed.

We are asked all the time “what is a construction, Lien?” A construction lien is a claim by a supplier, contractor, or subcontractor notifying all parties that an improvement has been made to a specific property and that not all parties have been compensated for their materials and/or labor.
The Lien Process begins with determining if your project is a residential, commercial, or municipality/government project. Once we determine the type of project, the various steps are involved below.
“Residential/Commercial projects”
Step One:
A notice of Furnishings (NOF) must be prepared and mailed out via certified return receipt to the property owner and general contractor. We take the steps necessary to ensure you are reaching the proper parties involved. This is completed by our experienced title abstractors who seek the legal description, parcel id, and other documents recorded on the title of the requested property. Please note a NOF Is not required to be mailed if you have contracted direct with the property owner.
Step Two:
A construction Lien in Michigan must be filed within 90 days of the last date of activity on the project.
